New York Law Firm seeks Business Development Coordinator. The BD Coordinator will work closely with all members of the marketing team and Firm attorneys to help provide practice development support by coordinating the pitch/proposal production process and other development initiatives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating the pitch production process from the point of opportunity through the completion of the final document
- Writing key sections to tailor proposals/pitches to specific prospects/industries/sectors
- Refining and growing the firm’s suite of pitch materials
- Overseeing the pitch and proposal tracking process for New York, including follow-up with lawyers to capture results, analyzing the results, and developing best practices for future opportunities based on the analyses
- Maintaining and updating frequently used collateral, including attorney biographies, practice descriptions and experience lists
- Contributing and assisting in the development of Firmwide transactions and matters databases and electronic library of pitch components
- Managing and reviewing market, industry and client research for pitch preparation
- Supervising pitch process, including participating in strategy session, writing proposals, rehearsing for pitch meetings and ensuring best practices
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience working in a marketing/business development department in a legal, investment banking, or professional services firms
- Proficiency in PowerPoint
- Excellent writing skills
- Familiar with the pitch process and have a basic understanding of all legal disciplines with a focus on real estate, private equity, public company M&A, capital markets, and debt finance
- Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships among lawyers and staff to achieve results
- Must be comfortable with tight deadlines and multiple projects
- Expertise in Microsoft Windows and Office suite of applications including PowerPoint and Excel is required, and experience with Quark, Photoshop and Visio is a preferred
- Must possess a professional demeanor and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are also required
